SUSTAINABLE FASHION RESORT WEAR, LOCALLY PRODUCED BY SKILLED ARTISANS IN BALI

Our mission is to create beautiful and sustainable resort wear that seamlessly blends modern elegance with traditional handcraftsmanship.

By sourcing locally-produced materials and working with skilled artisans in Bali, we aim to preserve the natural beauty of our planet while providing our customers with effortless and timeless pieces.

Our commitment to ethical production and sustainability guides every aspect of our business, ensuring that our customers can feel confident in their purchase and proud to wear our brand.

With a vintage touch, we bring an aesthetic experience without sacrificing our values or the health of the planet.

Our core collection is a line of accessories made of traditional Indonesian rattan. This versatile and durable material has been in use for a variety of practical and artistic purposes by tribal cultures in Indonesia since prehistory.

It is harvested from climbing palms indigenous to the jungles o Southeast Asia, and woven into a sturdy and water-resistant fabric. Rattan is then dyed with intricate and meaningful geometric patterns using black paint harvested from a local plant, and turned into baskets, bags, home accessories, furniture, work of art and many more things.

Process of Natural Dyeing:

Selection of Materials: Choose natural fibres such as cotton, linen, wool, or silk, which absorb natural dyes effectively.

Preparation:

Scouring: Clean the fabric to remove any impurities and prepare it to accept the dye.

Mordanting: Treat the fabric with a mordant (like alum, iron, or tannin) to improve colour fastness and brightness.

Extraction of Dye:

Plant-based Dyes: Extract colour from plant parts like roots, leaves, bark, or flowers through methods like boiling or soaking.

Mineral and Insect Dyes: Grind minerals or insects and dissolve them in water or alcohol to extract their pigment.

Dyeing Process:

Heat the dye bath to the appropriate temperature and duration depending on the dye material.

Submerge the fabric into the dye bath and allow it to absorb the colour, periodically stirring for even distribution.

Rinsing and Finishing:

After achieving the desired colour depth, rinse the fabric in water to remove excess dye.

Wash the fabric with mild detergent to remove any remaining dye particles and mordant residues.

Air dry or gently press to complete the process.

Optional Post-Treatment:

Some dyes may benefit from additional treatments like sunlight exposure or a post-dyeing mordant bath to enhance colour fastness.
